Organic agricultural and horticultural systems promote the sustainable production of food of optimum quality and quantity. The program has been developed with reference to IFOAM, European Community Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91, USDA Rulings, JAS requirements and the Codex Alimentarius Guidelines. The Brucke & Virtus Organic Production Standard has been Guide 65 (EN 45 011) accredited by the RvA, Japanes MAFF and the USDA. In addition Brucke & Virtus local organic program in Austria has been accredited by the local Authorities since 1999. EVENT Concern for food safety and purity has lead to distrust of over-industrialized food manufacture and overly-artificial foods. These concerns have dramatically increased the demand for Organic foods in most Western countries in recent years with an annual growth of 20% and more. Brucke & Virtus has answered the needs expressed by more and more farmers and processors by developing a program with reference to the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM ) and the major importing markets with their specific local organic requirements.
